AWS Elastic Container Registry vs. GitLab

Amazon Elastic Container Registry (ECR) is a fully-managed Docker container registry that makes it easy for developers to store, manage, and deploy Docker container images. Amazon ECR is integrated with Amazon Elastic Container Service (ECS) but can also be used from other sources. ECR is charged by storage and by internet traffic, meaning that it’s cheaper to use if you stay within the AWS bubble.

In contrast, GitLab provides a container registry which is built-in part of the product (ie. no extra costs beyond standard operating costs).
